![]() ![]() By default Alice frame rate is locked, i had to unlock it in one of the ini files so it can run at 85 fps (thats my CRT hz). Alice will still be Alice and cant roll through the puzzle as normal. So, is it overrated? I mean if Alice can do it on a crappy card so beautifully, why is TressFX useful?Įdit: I checked some Tomb Rider videos and the hair physics with TressFX don't look nearly as good as they do in Alice.Įdit 2: Before someone starts wondering. Performance analysis reveals that Alice: Madness Returns is v-synced on both platforms and features a capped 30FPS update, but there is a distinct difference in how both versions operate. ![]() ![]() But how good is that exactly? Is it Better than Alice? I also heard that it is a very demanding operation, reducing performance drastically. I heard that Tomb Raider needs that thing called TressFX to make the hair look good. Madness Returns was developed by China-based studio Spicy Horse, who were also the developers for American McGee's Grimm. Madness Returns was released for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 in the U.S. I don't think this game uses this TressFX technique, i'm pretty sure it uses its own technique, although i could be wrong. Overview Alice: Madness Returns is the sequel to 2000's American McGee's Alice for the PC. The game runs smooth at 85fps with almost no dips. PhysiX is on low and my graphics card is an ancient 8800GT. ![]() Im LTTP for Alice and play the game on PC, the hair looks incredible. Someone who played both Alice Madness returns and Tomb Raider on PC, can you tell me whats the difference? ![]()
